POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Lending, the Title Specialist is responsible for preparing and processing tax and title documents to transfer ownership of properties. This position is also responsible for general office administration.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & BASIC DUTIES

  1. Assists with tracking and maintaining vehicle titles, including perfecting titles, researching outstanding titles, lien releases, handling payoffs and title releases.
  2. Assists other SPFCU branches and members with titles and answers questions related to titles.
  3. Handles correspondence with DMV/Dealers/Department of Wildlife.
  4. Performs general office administration duties such as processing mail, answering phones, and helping members.
  1. Calling banks to learn about loan details and payment statuses.
  2. Thoroughly reading titles to ensure all information is accurate.
  3. Researching state and federal laws to ensure that vendors and clients transfer titles in a legal manner.
  4. Drafting documents, which includes reviewing, editing, and creating records for them.
  5. Acting as a point of contact between vendors and clients.
  6. Verifying, processing, and creating copies of legal and financial documents.
  7. Submitting legal transfer documents to relevant state government departments.
  8. Answering incoming calls, resolving member complaints, and answering client questions.
  9. Audit titles for errors and compliance with state rules

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

  • HS Diploma or equivalent

Preferred

  • Previous experience with cash handling

 

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES

  • Valid driver’s license

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS

Physical Demands

The essential functions of the position may require frequent standing, finger dexterity in non-dominant hand, near/far visual acuity, depth perception, field of vision, accommodation, and color vision; occasional walking, sitting, repetitive use of both hands and finger dexterity with both hands; seldom reaching overhead, bending over, lifting/carrying of up to 25 lbs., and driving a vehicle.

 

 Mental Demands

The essential functions of the position require the ability to read and write complex material, perform simple and complex math calculations, and the ability to perform simple and complex tasks; perform clerical functions, compile and analyze information; coordinate activities, supervise and instruct others; follow instructions, influence others, meet time requirements, memorization, problem solving through use of independent judgment and decision making skills.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud and the employee usually works in a climate-controlled environment. Work may entail the use of computer equipment.  The employee works alone, with others, around others, with verbal and face-to-face contact.  Ability to travel to other SPFCU locations including overnight trips as appropriate for your job responsibilities.
