This enhancement is easy to use, and one of the most effective ways to protect your financial information.
What Is an Authenticator App?
Why This Matters
Authenticator apps are considered one of the safest ways to protect online accounts because they:
- Generate codes directly on your device
- Can’t be intercepted or redirected
- Expire quickly and can only be used once
- Keep your account secure even if your phone number or email is compromised
What This Means for You
- Authenticator app verification is available now.
- Beginning November 15, email verification will no longer be available.
- If you currently use email to receive verification codes, set up an authenticator app before the deadline.
- If you’ve previously chosen to “trust” a device, you may not be prompted for a code on that device.

Important: Authentication Changes Begin November 15
To help better protect your account, email verification will no longer be available for online banking beginning November 15, 2026.
If you currently receive a verification code by email when logging in, please set up an authenticator app before November 15 to help ensure continued access to your account.
An authenticator app generates secure, one-time codes directly on your mobile device, providing an added layer of protection when you log in.

*To participate in this offer, the Skip-A-Pay form must be returned to Sierra Pacific no later than three (3) business days prior to the scheduled monthly transaction date.
