Corporate Governance

Sierra Pacific FCU is organized under its federal charter and by-laws as a financial cooperative serving its members' financial needs.  A Board of Directors is elected on a rotating basis during the annual meeting.  Each eligible member has one vote, regardless of the number of shares held.  The Board presently consists of seven members.

Other member volunteer committees include the Supervisory Committee and the Credit Committee.  The Supervisory Committee arranges for the annual audit and conducts its own audits and analyses.  The Credit Committee approves loan officers, approves loans and assists management in determining the parameters of how credit is extended to members.

Chair: Robert Aramini

Bob brings years of corporate managerial experience in human resources and organizational development and over 25 years credit union involvement to the Board. 

Vice Chair: John Nunn

John has a wealth of managerial financial business experience as well as 20 years of experience with Credit Unions.  John presently serves as the Assistant Athletic Director for Business Services at the University of Nevada.  John, his wife and children are active in the Community.

Treasurer: Bruce Harvey

Bruce is president and chief investment officer of Paradigm Capital Management, an investment advisory firm, in Reno, Nevada.

Secretary: Richard Melillo

Rich brings a significant managerial background in safety training and organizational development to the Board.  As Secretary, Rich brings his years of business experience to the Secretary's position, which in a financial institution is critical to maintaining and documenting Board actions.

Member: Jim Hunting

President & CEO since January 2001, Jim has presided over significant expanion of the institution.  He holds an MBA, is president of the Downtown Business Association, serves on the Board of the Chamber and sits on the City of Reno redevelopment advisory board.  Jim has also served as the president of the Nevada Chapter of the Business Economists Association. 

Member: Virgil Aramini

Virgil has nearly 40 years of experience in corporate finance and accounting as well as decades of experience with Credit Unions.  He has been very active in community affairs including chairing Ducks Unlimited.

Member: Robert Fitch

Robert has served on the Board since 1999 and has extensive management experience in regulation and operations.  He is presently the commanding general of the Nevada Air Guard as well as managing a key software development project for Sierra Pacific Resources.  Robert has extensive management and leadership skills.
